I have recently done an update on my Lightroom and since the update it will not preview the images. When I create a new folder and select the new folder it shows all the images once but once I have clicked import the task bar trys fetching previews but locks up. the images are imported into light room but till I select one image, which I do not know what it is till I select it, it appears and I can edit. I have tried removing folders and re-importing to no success. Previous folders where I had no issue the previews have vanished, /i makes no difference if images are raw or jpeg, can anyone help

Please help us all out and change your title to be a brief description of the problem. If everyone used "Light Room Classic" as their title, this forum would be nearly useless.
What update did you do? What is the version NUMBER of your Lightroom Classic?

All I have is Adobe Lightroom classic which I downloaded and installed around March this year. The 3 updates were Lightroom v 13.5, Photoshop V25.11 and camera raw v16.5
Sorry about the title but first time I have had to use this help. I have used lightroom for 7 years and this is the first time I have experienced this issue

Can you create and post a video to demonstrate your issue.

Any video would best be posted by saving it to a share like DropBox, and then pasting a link to it in a reply.
Also, I recommend that you use this link as to how to create screenshots and screen captures, still or video, instead of using a smart phone or camera to take them.

This looks like another Discussion (unknown if solved or still an issue) :

The first thing that you should try is to switch off the GPU support from the Lightroom preferences and check if that helps to fix the issue.
Go to Lightroom > Preferences > Performance tab > Uncheck "Use Graphics Processor" > Restart Lightroom.
https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom-classic/kb/troubleshoot-gpu.html
In a next step try resetting the preferences of Lightroom Classic:

Backup your preferences prior to resetting the preferences:

Check your monitor profile. Gray thumbnails can be also a hint to a corrupt profile.

It's also possible that the preview cache has a fault.
Please see here: Lightroom error on preview cache or displays gray thumbnails (adobe.com)
If this all doesn't help, provide a copy of your 'System Info'. This can be get from the LrC Help > System Info menu item. There's a copy button in the System Info dialog. Press this button and paste the info into your next forum post.
On which location do you have stored your catalog? If it's on a cloud drive like OneDrive move it to a internal hard drive. and check.
