The Sony A7C II (ILCE-7CM2) requires Lightroom Classic 13.0 or newer. Unfortunately, your operating system doesn't support LrC 13.0, and it would seem that your computer is too old to install a macOS version compatible with LrC 13.0. A new computer looks like your only way forward.

@LOUPhoto

I've moved your post from Creative Cloud Desktop to Lightroom Classic for you.

Alternatively, you can use the Adobe DNG Converter to convert the .arws to DNGs and then import the DNGs into LR:

(Note that help article hasn't been updated with the latest names and version numbers of Lightroom and Photoshop, but it's otherwise accurate.)

The only DNG converter that I can find to download is here, and this requires Monterrey, i.e. it is not an option for the OP who is using Catalina. So unless there is a way to download earlier versions of the DNG converter, then this is not an option for the OP.

This is indeed an additional problem. Downloading an earlier version of DNG Converter would be useless, because that version would not support the latest cameras either. The latest version of DNG Converter does not run on older MacOS software however, so the option to convert your images to DNG seems no longer supported for anyone who cannot run MacOS Monterey or later..

I also have an old mac and I solved the problem this way. These Sony raw files can be seen and opened by Adobe Bridge. And from there it is possible to export to DNG. Although the new Lightroom and DNG converter also refuse to install.
