Basic Preset Questions

I'm still using 7.2 because it is the most recent version that IT at my work has updated to and I will not be able to update for several weeks (my update privileges are unavailable on my computer).

1. Is there a way to use the new format .xmp presets with my version of LR?

2. Should folders of presets be copied into the User Preset folder OR should I copy the individual presets out of the folder ad into the User Preset folder?

3. Some presets I drag into the User Preset folder do not display after rebooting LR. Any suggestions for common issues that may cause this?

1: No.

2: That should not matter, but Lightroom can only show one level of subfolders.

3: Are you sure these are develop presets, and not something else like local adjustment presets?
