Dear friends,
when I use the blur tool in LRC everything works fine UNTIL I modify the focus range sliders. As soon as I shift the focus range the application freezes on the "Analysing" message, and I need to kill the taks in the taks manager.
I run the latest Win 11 update, a AMD Ryzen 9 5900X processor, 64 GB Ram and an 8GB RTX 2080 Super Graphics adapter.
Any ideas?
Thank you,
Jerry

What version NUMBER of Lightroom Classic? Please tell us the version NUMBER and not words like "latest" or "Up-to-date".
Please make sure you have the most recent GPU driver installed, and that it is a Studio driver and not a Game-Ready driver.

Sure. I run version 15.0 of Lightroom Classic and the latest NVidia Studio Driver, namely version 581.57.

Hi @jekyll1411
We’ve received similar reports from other users as well. For them, quitting the app with Test integrity and Optimize catalog checked, then relaunching Lightroom Classic, resolved the issue.
Could you please try the same and let us know how it goes? You can follow the steps here: Troubleshoot corrupt catalog in Lightroom Classic

Hi Srishti,
I tried this right now, but unfortunately the problem remains the same.
I believe it is worth noticing though, that if I move the whole blur range, as illustrated in the hereby screenshot, the problem does not occur. If I just enlargen the blur range, by moving the right hand blurring range handle to the right for example, the application freezes immediately. (Not sure if this was comprehensible, but my images should showcase this well.)
Best regards,
Jerry

Hi @jekyll1411
Thanks for sharing the details. In this scenario, I would suggest resetting the preferences for Lightroom Classic to see if that helps. You can find the steps here: https://adobe.ly/4qFL9eS
Please make sure to create a backup of these folders before deleting them completely.

Good evening,
that did not work either. So I uninstalled LR and reinstalled it from start, and this finally resolved the issue.
Go figure! Thank you anyways for your help.
Best,
Jerry

Hi,
unfortunately, after reinstalling LrC it worked a bit, and now I face exactly the same problem.
This is rather frustrating I have to admit.
I can change any blur tool function without problem, but as soon as I touch the Focus Range, the tool freezes over the "analyzing" message.
So I'm still open for any solution.
Best,
Jerry
