BOOKMODULE - photo's offline?

I'm making a book but when I go to the book module I get a '!' on the left corner of my photo's and this means that the photo can't be found or is offline.

I've made books in the past and this never happened. I don't know what I'm doing wrong right now.

Several things could have happened. The images could be on an external hard drive that is presently not connected. The images have been moved but were done so not using Lightroom. The images have been deleted but Lightroom wasn't used to delete them. Regardless of what happened, the images are not in the location where Lightroom expects them to be.

Having this issue also. I have been a long time user of Lightroom and understand how to move photos around in Lightroom. I have published several books already and had no issues. Have made another collection of images from a recent trip and have created a book which I have saved. The issue is happening sporadically. I have inserted images onto the book pages. When I return to the book and I am receiving a message about one or two images; that they are offline or can't be found. I know where the images are and have not moved them. I remove the images in question from the collection (B) and then add them again to the collection (B) from original folder in which they are stored all within Lightroom.  Any idea why this happening? Any fixes to suggest? In anticipation, thanks for your help.

It doesn't matter that you know where the images are. Lightroom Classic doesn't care about that. Lightroom Classic doesn't know where the images are.

You don't finish the story. Does this fix the problem?

Any idea why this happening?

Possibly the disk and the computer are not communicating properly. I would examine the disk where the photos are located by running diagnostics on it, and if it is an external or network drive, also examine the connection between the disk and the computer.
