Button to export as catalogue not available

Community Beginner ,

Hi all,

It's been over a month now, and a recent software update hasn't sorted the issue. Suddenly, when opting to export the selected photos, or a whole catalogue as a catalogue, the button on the file browser GUI is not selectable (See screengrab).

I was able to do this previously.

I've tried manually selecting individual photos. Less photos. A whole catalogue. The button is still not selctable.

System info:

Lightroom Classic version: 13.1 [ 202312111226-41a494e8 ]
License: Creative Cloud
Language setting: en-GB
Operating system: Mac OS 14
Version: 14.2.1 [23C71]

Macbook Pro 14" M1 Pro CPU.

Many thanks,

Rob

I just tried this, and the same thing happened to me.

But I quickly recognized the problem. The reason the Export Catalog button is not available is that the file name field starts out blank, but some kind of name is required. As soon as I started typing just one character for the exported catalog’s name, the button became available.

Did you note the separate entry in the file menu to Export as catalog ?

Yes, that's the only way I know of exporting as a catalogue.

Simple, but if it makes you feel any better…I had to stare at it for longer than I want to admit, before I smacked my forehead and said "of course…” 🙂
