I recently upgraded from CC (6.?) to Classic (12.1), other than that nothing has changed. Same PC, same storage locations, same permissions, same, same, same.
Previously, I could bulk-delete (from disk) everything I tagged as rejects from within the library. I could drag/drop files or folders in the catalog to move them around. I could rename folders. Now, none of this works.
I've searched as I know how and none of the suggested solutions seem to apply here. I tried starting LrC as admin, nada...but as I said, absolutely nothing about the environment has changed (beyong the Lr version) and permissions were such previously that it all worked flawlessly.
There's a 2nd issue, which I suspect is related. That is, I can no longer import directly from either the camera or the SD card...files have to be copied (in Explorer) from the camera to a disk, then imported in place on the disk. I'm thinking whatever file blocking is happening is also preventing LrC from creating them (via copy) at import.
Thanks for any ideas!

I will try, but pretty much everything that is failing starts at the local SSD. As I said, import to SSD, cull, then move to mapped server drive letter for long-term fail-safe (RAID / backup) storage. I've been using the file server for years as the final repository, without issue. Catalog is and has always been local.

Rethinking, you might want to start that experiment with a new catalog.

Brand new catalog, imported one folder in-place from the local SSD (add), same result...can't delete/rename/move. I did not try to import as copy (don't have camera here at the moment), but my money says still not working.

(import worked fine, no management possible once imported)
