the current version 15 cannot read my new Sony A7Cii raw photos, and my current MacOS (Big Sur) is not compatible to install version 16, whatever can I do? Even the new 16.1 Adobe DNG converter cannot be installed with the current OS. I don't want to spend money in getting a new computer! Please advise how to solve the problem

The reason you cannot update Lightroom Classic to version 16 is that version 16 of Lightroom Classic does not exist. Nor does version 15 exist.
Current version of Lightroom Classic is 13.1, which does not run on Big Sur. Nor does the DNG converter run on Big Sur. So, if you don't want to spend money on a new computer, then I think that means there only remaining option for you at this time to read you Raw photos is to use the software from Sony to convert the photos to TIF, which your actual Lightroom Classic can then read.

yes, I mistake the version. If I convert those raw photos with Sony Imaging Edge Desktop to TIFF, can I edit those photos on LRC with the new AI function? Thanks for your reply

Denoise will not work on TIFs. Other new AI features probably will work, but I admit I have not tried those features on TIFs.

I assume you are talking about the Camera Raw version in Lightroom Classic. Lightroom Classic 13.1 contains Camera Raw 16.1. I'm afraid there is little you can do. Maybe try to install a newer version of MacOS despite your computer not officially supported? https://www.easeus.com/computer-instruction/install-macos-monterey-on-unsupported-mac.html
