Good evening everybody... I just traveled 8 hours by train - most of them standing. And I have a hard night shift ahead of my. The client needs the colours exactly as in the JPGS. But the "camera standard" profile does not at all match the JPGs of the Canon 5D MarkIV. The Reds kinda explode, not to mention the lights and the overall contrast. Infact, the out of cam JPGs look better than the resulat after trying a RAW to get close for 10 minutes or so.
Whyyyyyy does Adobe not support the Camera Standard on the MarkIV?
Can anyone help? I noticed a lot of people had this issue now for more than a year. Any solution for this? How hard can it be to add a standard profile for the markIV ???
I want my money back adobe... this is bullshit.

Camera Standard isn't supposed to match the JPEG images. If you really want your raw images to come from the camera looking the way you expect them, then you need to take the time to create your own default settings specific to your camera. Every camera is different, and it is your responsibility to make the appropriate adjustments so that the images are downloaded into Lightroom appropriately. Once you have created good default settings, those will be applied to images whenever they are imported. Then, all you have to do is make the fine tuning adjustments as you see necessary.

One web article I have read was very informative-
Ignore the word "Nikon" -everything is still relevant for Canon et al.

To Both of you: I know "Camera Standard" is only a starting point. And I know to apply it. The problem is it is so wayyyyy off on the Canon 5D Mark4 and nobody seems to care, it is disgusting.
The jpgs on the 5D Mark4 are often excellent, but when you take the RAW you cant work with it without getting awful skincolour.
On the 6D Mark i and ii the "Camera Standard" works perfect 1:1, so on the 5D Mark iii or the 1DX Mark II. Only the 5D Mark iv has this problem.
INACCAPTABLE!

If you can- beg, borrow, steal, or buy an Xrite Color Checker Passport, you can create a profile for your camera specific to its sensor characteristics.
Only then will your colors be close to true.
I have used Xrite to create profiles for all my Nikons and hence never had a problem with color. (and a Spyder for monitor profiling.)

In this case using Canon's DPP would be a better option. Then you would get exactly want you see. But you properly already know this!
