As stated in the screen that shows up when you upgrade the catalog, No:

Note: The upgraded catalog will not be compatible with previous versions of Lightroom Classic

Hi, I know that. The problem is not with my catalog itself. The problem is that only LRc 13.5 works well in my PC and all my work of MONTHS with LRc 14.0 is lost when I try with LRc 13.5!!! LRC 14.0.1 neither works. Adobe folks have no useful answer until today. They only say, ask the adobe community.

First you will need to roll back your LrC version.

Then the previous upgrade of the catalog will have created a folder:

  • Old Lightroom Catalogs

In that you will find a compressed backup (with the backup date added to the file name)

Copy that file to a different folder, uncompress it, and use it.

cross your fingers, and bribe any Gremlins with good Bourbon

Using Lightroom Classic 14.0.1, select all images you added and worked on since the upgrade from 13.5. Choose the menu 'Metadata - Save Metadata to Files'. Now uninstall 14.0.1 and reinstall 13.5. Open your old 13.5 catalog. Select those images you worked on in 14.0 and that were already in this catalog, and choose 'Metadata - Read Metadata from Files'. Then import the images that you added to the 14.0 catalog and so are not yet in this catalog. They will be imported with the edits saved in metadata, so this allows you to go back to 13.5 without losing your 14.0 work.

You are welcome. I should have added that you will lose virtual copies if you used these, and also stacks will be lost. A small price to pay, but do realise this when you find for example that virtual copies you created in v14 are missing.

Yep! I understand. Next time I’ll take carefully new versions of LRc and my catalogs.
