Classic Crash whilst accessing sync. Persistent lockup immediately after start up. unable to use

This issue stops me using Classic within miniuites of loading it up.

This is in relkation to using Classic as an afterthought of using CC firstly.

So the catelog was created using Lightroom CC (Or the desktop/mobile version whatever you want to call it).  The image count is between 35-40k and they all exist in the cloud.

So starting Lightroom Classic and turning on Sync to allow Classic recieving the files causes an imedaiate crash of the app.

This is the latest version of everything.

Lightroom Classic 12.2.1

MacOS Ventura 13.2.1

Observed symptoms are that the app hangs within a few minuites of loading. Forcing me to force quit. Upon restarting the app it seems to jump to life and a number of shots imedidately seem to appear in the catalog. So if the app was left in a crashed state for aprox 1 minuite. 100 images will add to the cataglog on restart.

You couldn't have described my problem any clearer!

I've just got a new Mac Studio and it's been since then. Interestingly my old Mac running Monterey seems to work fine which makes me think it's a Ventura issue? I've uninstalled and re-installed all Adobe apps a couple of times, built a new catalogue in case the issue was with the catalogue itself, but always the same  problem. I've left my old Mac chugging along and it seems to be handling the sync fine, albeit quite slowly.

I'd also tried the

To add to this I have another observation. It appears if you open the mobile sync folder even though the application has hung (beachballing) and unresponsive in force quit. The folder volume does keep increasing.

Also I have ran this to the point the machine as said the system is out of RAM. The memory taken by Classic after a time period of between 30 mins and 1 hour exceds 100GIG. This is more than the phsyical ram of the machine by more than 40gig.

I'd also tried the catalogue on my wife's Mac, also running Ventura, same thing. Imports a number of images quite quickly, then freezes completely.

The last update 12.2.1 apparently fixed a Windows syncing issue. Could it also have created a Ventura one? just saying..

It seems so. This is clearly whats happening in my case anyway. It wouldbt be too much of an issue if I could just leave classic syncing for days to get the catalog down. However after just 1 hour on a faily high end net connection im still only able to pull down roughly 500 images (plus after that time the app will use all all available ram/swap and the system will stop working. So unless I'm happy to sit here for potentially a week contantly exiting the app after 30 mins I'll never be able to use Classic without starting fresh.

A compleley shoddy experience given its a paid service. This is just another bump on an otherwise constantly buggy road. The updates between applications is months where it should be weeks total.

OK, so I've rolled back LRC to v12.1, it's been running for a hour or so syncing steadily and no crashes! Fingers crossed that's the issue, I'm going to stick with 12.1 until a fix is released

Similar issue in 12.1. Seemed slightly more stable but ultimately came to the same fate.
