Command "Edit in Photoshop" has quit working

Using Windows 10 Pro 22H2, I recently installed Photoshop Beta so I could play with the generative fill stuff. It took over as the default version of PS tho and I couldn't make it stop, so I uninstalled it. This broke the link between PS and LR and all the commands for opening in PS were disabled. I uninstalled and reinstalled the latest stable version of PS but it didn't help. Then, I edited the registry and copy/pasted the path to the PS executable in the appropriate key. This re-enabled the "Edit in Photoshop" command and the others, but when I select them, PS opens but no file is opened. If PS is already open it will switch to it but still does not open any file. If I go to PS, select the script "Load files into stack," and then go find the files in the file system, this works normally.

The only exception is TIFFs. When I right-click on a TIFF and choose "Edit in Photoshop," it opens a dialog asking me if I want to make a copy or edit the original. I choose to edit the original, and the TIFF opens in PS like normal. DNGs do not have this dialog tho and they do not open in PS at all. Trying to open anything as layers in PS does not work either, whether TIFF or DNG.

How can I fix this? I've tried reinstalled both LR and PS as well as resetting my preferences but nothing has helped.

Can you post a screen shot of your Preferences > External Editing tab? You should be able to confirm on this screen which app you want to be your default external editor.

I still haven't figured this out. Any suggestions?

I think something might have gone wrong here. I see that you posted but there's no message:

I was going to give you the same advice Axel has. But it's advice that has already been given so many times that frankly it gets a bit boring having to continually go over the same ground again and again.

It's not like we're adding anything useful to what has already been said here - literally, I expect - a hundred times...

I haven't seen any other issues exactly like mine. The post that Axel linked I've seen before and is a different situation than what I've described, though it could conceivably have the same underlying cause. So I don't know where these 100 posts you mention are but I haven't seen them. I'm having an issue that is disruptive to my workflow with software that I pay for and I'm going to seek help with it whether you like it or not. If you're bored then gtfo.

If you have installed the latest Beta 25.0, then it's a known issue. Please roll back to the 24.7 Beta.

I uninstalled the beta entirely. I'm on 24.7 Release. I tried rolling back to 24.6 Release and then upgrading to 24.7 Release again, but it didn't help.
