I know how to compare images in the same folder, but is it possible to compare Images in different folders?

TIA - Richard

You can use the "All Photographs" view.

Or put the desired photos into a Quick Collection.

Or assign the photos a specific keyword, and then find all the photos with that keyword.

Another alternative would be to create a collection specific for the images that you want to compare.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions!

I hadn't hought about Collections, d'oh.   I will now wtrart using them for this.  What I did was export the two images to a "Compare" folder.  This also gives me the option to experiment with and image without affecting the original.  Makes me feel safer.

Best to all!

You would be wise to stop thinking in terms of doing everything with folders. Lightroom Classic has many superior tools for handling image tasks than folders.

Other than collections can you suggest anything else?  Thanks

"Other than collections can you suggest anything else? Thanks"

Yes, I did that earlier in this thread.

Something I just learned:

You can display the contents of multiple folders in the same grid by selecting the first folder then CTRL-click on the extra folders.

I'm definitely going to give this a try.  Thanks!

Just a note for any Mac users reading this thread — on the Mac, to view multiple sources at once (folders or collections or both) you want to Command-click each folder, not Ctrl-click.

And for both Mac and Windows, Shift-clicking selects a range of sources in the same list. In other words, the multiple selection modifier key shortcuts work the same as they do on the Mac or Windows desktop.
