Since the latest updates, I have had some issues with using Camera Raw (v 17.0) in Lightroom Classic (14.0.1). I have the same issue in the latest Photoshop Beta (v 26.1). When I go into Camera Raw and try to make a mask, it creates the mask but turns the color temperature to the maximum (very yellow) and and bumps clarity, texture and contrast. I have to manually reset those sliders and check for any other unwanted adjustments before making the adjustments I wanted in the mask.
Also, it seems that Lightroom and/or Photoshop Beta are running slower than usual and gobbling up memory for some reason. I 16 GB RAM and never had issues before, but now I get freezing, crashes, and/or dialogues telling me there is not enough RAM. To prevent losing work, I am frrequently and saving the files and then purging the cache while I work. The remove tool seems to be the biggest issue with RAM.

Hey, @Devonian. Welcome to the Lightroom Classic Community. I'll need more info to help you figure this out.
Please share the system info from Photoshop and Lightroom Classic from Help > System info > Copy and paste into a text document > Upload and attach here.
The issue could be caused by any of the three apps. We'll need to determine which application triggers it. As a test, try using Photoshop and Camera Raw without Lightroom in the background to see if the issue exists.
In Photoshop, press and hold the CTRL + ALT key, go to Edit > Preferences > Camera Raw Preferences, and select 'Yes' when prompted to reset Camera Raw preferences.
In Photoshop, go to Edit > Preferences > Image Processing > Remove Tool Processing > Stable.
For Lightroom Classic, have you enabled Sync? Are there any images that are syncing while you're working?
Try pausing Sync to compare the performance.
Let me know how it goes. Thanks!

For some reason, the issue with masking Camera RAW suddenly went away. So far, I have been unable to replicate it in either LR or PS. I noticed that there was a check box in the Camera RAW masking box that says "Reset Sliders Automatically." I clicked that on and off a few times. So, maybe that solved the issue. I don't know. If I can replicate the issue, I will report back.
