Cropping and sizing

New Here ,
Oct 09, 2017 Oct 09, 2017

Hello,

I have several photos I took that I had to remove things by cropping the photo.  Now that I have the photo cropped the way I want it, how can I print different sizes of the same photo without cutting parts off?  (8X10-5X7-4x6)

Thanks

You didn't say what the dimensions (in pixels, width and height) are after you did the crop.

Nevertheless, if you want to print at 8x10, you MUST crop to 8x10 (and not some other aspect ratio). Which means you have to chop off more of the photo with the crop tool (unless the crop is exactly 8x10).

if you want to print at 5x7, you MUST crop to 5x7 (and not some other aspect ratio). Which means you have to chop off more of the photo with the crop tool (unless the crop is exactly 5x7).

if you want to print at 4x6, you MUST crop to 4x6 (and not some other aspect ratio). Which means you have to chop off more of the photo with the crop tool (unless the crop is exactly 4x6).

So it you have a client that wants 3 different sizes you crop the photo 3 different times?

Either that, or the image won't completely fill the paper on at least 2 of the prints.

That is one of the very good uses of virtual copies.

Yes ... or ... you provide the uncropped image and you let the client do the cropping and printing
