Bug report template:
Issue:
Steps to reproduce:
Expected result: One should not have to keep filtering to 'flag' after using the denoise operation.
Actual result: After pressing denoise, the filmstip does not keep only flagged photos
(Guess what I do for a living....) 😉 Hopefully the instructions are clear enough.
This is an FAQ. It is not a bug, but as designed. Filters are reset when you select an action that creates a new file, such as Denoise does. The reason is to avoid confusion. If you filtered on something that would filter out the new file -for example because you filtered on raw files- then it may seem that Denoise did not work at all, because you will not see the new DNG (which is not a raw file) appear. If you do not want the filter to be reset, then lock it by clicking the padlock in the uppe

Not at a computer, so please excuse a question I should test on my own.
When you accomplish that AI Denoise, and that DNG file is created, does it have the same flag status as the original? Or is it unflagged?

This is really dumb. Reverting to 3000 unedited photos doesn't seem like the right move to me

I don't think you understand the answer or the question. Nothing is 'reverted'. What just happens is that a library filter is reset, and you can simply avoid that by locking that filter with the padlock.

I think the design is horrid, if I lock the filter at the library level for the photos I'm working on so that I can denoise or whatever, then when I swtich to another group of photos (another day for example), the library level lock remains.

The design is not horrid, because that too can be set the way you want it. File > Library Filters > Remember Each Source’s Filters Separately.

Thanks, I did not see that. It seems to be working as I would like,

In my photo folders, I have applied filters - gradings, colour labels etc. to refine editing choices, but everytime I 'Develop' a photo and use Denoise, all filters are always switched-off automatically after Denoise has finished applying to an image.
How do I stop this, as it means I have to go back to my folders everytime to re-apply the filters?

Is this after applying Denoise AI? As in creating a new DNG file as a result? If so, then that is by design.
