DJI MINI 4 PRO - Lightroom Classic Profile issue - All Raw photos damage

I’m not sure if DJI and Adobe are aware of this bug, but it’s a major problem.

I updated Adobe Lightroom Classic to version 14.1 (also tried 14.1.1), and all photos taken with the DJI MINI 4 PRO have become completely unusable.

The color profile changes on all the photos as soon as I click on DEVELOP. The previews in the LIBRARY module look fine until I switch to DEVELOP. The result is that the colors are completely off—washed out, with no contrast, and an odd color profile that makes the photos unusable.

After analyzing the issue, I discovered the problem lies in the color profile. It seems some changes have been made in Lightroom Classic.

The only solution for me right now is to downgrade to version 13.5, which restores the correct profile for all the photos.

PLEASE HELP. All presets, settings, and photos are unusable on the latest version of Lightroom Classic.

Hey Peter,

We're sorry for the Lightroom Classic image issue. We need more details to help you.

Please share the system info of Lightroom Classic from Help > System info > Copy & paste into a text in the reply.

Where are the images stored in an internal or external drive?

The first thing that you should try is to switch off the GPU support from the Lightroom preferences and check if that helps to fix the issue.

Go to Lightroom > Preferences > Performance tab > Uncheck "Use Graphics Processor" > Restart Lightroom.

Another step is to try to reset the Lightroom preferences.

It's recommended to backup your preferences before you reset the preferences to the default settings:

Let us know if this helps.

Thanks,

Shivani

I will look on the WEB for a sample RAW from  DJI Mini4 Pro to test, but perhaps you could place one in the cloud, and post a link in a reply, for members to test with? Something without any private info concerns. Perhaps save the metdata to the file (I assume it is DNG) before sharing as to place the edits in the file, or not liking that, simply export as original, then share that export.

Can you share some example raws? The images you posted look all fine to me but look like they were edited to be in a filmographic style. Very high contrast and with a LUT applied to deepen blues and warm everything up. If that is not what you intended you might be applying some kind of preset to your images or simply have the wrong profile set as default.

"The color profile changes on all the photos as soon as I click on DEVELOP."

There are two possibilities that are most likely the cause:

1. The DNGs were imported and edited in LR 13.0 or earlier, before LR provided color profiles for the Mini 4 Pro. In this case, the older LR used the color profile embedded in the DNG by DJI. When the catalog was upgraded, LR can do unintuitive things with such photos and their profiles.

2. The DNGs were imported into 13.1 or later version, which provided color profiles for the camera. But sometime after then, a firmware update from DJI unwisely changed the camera-model names recorded in the DNG's metadata, breaking photo apps that depended on the old model names, including LR, and LR didn't apply the default Adobe color profiles.  This was fixed in Lr 14.

To disentangle what's happening with your DNGs and straighten out the mess, we'll need the following from your LR 14.1:

1. A full-resolution screenshot of (not a phone pic) of the entire LR window showing one of the problem photos in Develop, including the Basic panel on the right, showing the Profile: line.

2. A copy of that DNG.  In LR Library, select the photo, do Metadata > Save Metadata To File (to save all the current Develop settings in the file), and upload the DNG to Wetransfer, Dropbox, Google Drive, or similar free service, and post the sharing link here.

3. A copy of a DNG that was in the catalog upgraded to LR 14 but which you haven't yet opened in Develop. In LR Library, select the photo, do Metadata > Save Metadata To File (to save all the current Develop settings in the file), and upload the DNG to Wetransfer, Dropbox, Google Drive, or similar free service, and post the sharing link here.

Without all three pieces of information, straightening out the mess will be much more difficult.

Also, when you provide the screenshot in step 1, make sure the History panel is showing on the left.
