Elements 2019 as External Editor for Lightroom 6.14 does not show the edits

Community Beginner ,

I am using Lightroom 6.14 on a PC.

When I try to send a photo to Elements 2019 using photo->edit in Elements Editor using Edit with Lightroom Adjustments elements opens but the photo does not load.

If I choose to edit a copy elements opens and the photo loads.  After making adjustments in elements I exit Elements, it asks me to save the file and it returns me to Lightroom.

I would like to edit with lightroom adjustments.  Anyway to make this work?

Hi Terry,

Sorry that an image when opened in Photoshop Elements 2019  from Lightroom 6.14 using the "Edit with adjustments" option does not show the edits done in Lightroom. That shouldn't be happening, let's help make this right.

Could you please let us know the exact version of Photoshop Elements 2019 you're using? Also, what image type are you trying to edit (jpeg, tiff, etc)?

To troubleshoot, I'd suggest that you restore Lightroom preferences as mentioned in this article How to set Lightroom Classic preferences  and if that does not help please reset the Photoshop Elements preferences to default as well: Preference file locations for Photoshop Elements and Premiere Elements

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks,

Akash

Thank you for the response. Unfortunately I am headed out of the country for awhile. I would like to pursue this when I get back. Search the forum for the thread titled PSE 2019 as External Editor in LR 6.14 to see more of what is going on. In addition to what I state in the thread when I click photo>edit in I do get get the option to pick edit with LR adjustments, edit a copy or original.

Akash-

Sorry it took me a while to get back to you.

For a refresh ...  I am using Lightroom 6.14.  I just upgraded to Photoshop Elements 2020 (uninstalled PSE 2019). I am on a Windows 10 PC.

When I am in LR I select a photo, then from the menu bar I select Photo > Edit In > Edit in Adobe Photoshop Editor I see the PSE 2020 splash screen and can see PSE 2020 Editor has opened.  After 20 to 30 seconds or so I get the following message in LR.
LR 6.14 Error Message.jpg

I click on OK in the message box and after another 20 seconds or so the photo opens in PSE 2020 Editor just fine.
I make my edits and save the file (as a tiff).  The edited file displays in LR just fine.

I get the same results with both jpeg and RAW files.

By the way this screen only pops up once in a while when I select Photo > Edit In > Edit in Adobe Photoshop Editor.  I select one of the three options and click the Edit button.  The results are the same as I outlined above whether or not I get this Edit Photo with box.

If you have any suggestions or questions please let me know.

Hello,

is there really no solution to this issue? I thought it might be a problem with Elements 2019 and purchased Elements 2020, but the same problem occurs! There are so many threads out there with this issue, but not a single working solution????

Regards,

G.
