Why can't I find originally files on Lightroom That I recently imported? They have an exclamation mark next to them and I'm unable to edit them in "develop".

Hi Pramitak,
Exclamation mark indicates that the files are missing from Lightroom, as Lightroom import only the previews of the original images. You can re-link the original images to the previews in Lightroom. Please read here to know more about this: How to find missing photos in Photoshop Lightroom Classic CC
Moved to Lightroom Classic CC — The desktop-focused app

Sahil,
I don’t think you were able to answer my question. I am having a difficult time importing new pictures from my SD card into Lightroom. I can see the pictures on the SD card directly from Lightroom in the folders section. When I attempt to import them it does not allow me. I have usually found Lightroom to automatically recognize when I insert my SD card and start the import process. This also does not happen any longer. I did update Lightroom recently to the latest version. I don’t know if this has something to do with it.
Before I updated the software, if I had attempted to import new pictures, Lightroom would import the pictures but have an “!” Next to the pictures so I could not edit them. In a few minutes, the folder that I recently imported, would completely disappear from Lightroom. Now it does not even import the pictures.
Can you help me?

Why do you say "it does not allow me"? Describe in detail what happens. If there is an error message, please state the exact complete unedited word-for-word error message.
Also, please confirm you are asking about Lightroom Classic CC and not Lightroom CC.

Do you mean Lightroom Classic CC instead of Lightroom CC? If so, please edit the title and let us know that this is the case.

Yes, he must be using Lightroom Classic, because you can't have 'missing images' in Lightroom CC and there is no 'Develop' in Lightroom CC.

While I'm sure you are correct, there are many people who read this forum who don't know these facts and they see the title and decide this doesn't apply to me because they don't use Lightroom CC. Furthermore, the original poster, and anyone reading along, ought to get better help if everyone knows that this is Lightroom Classic CC problem.

Did you move them or delete them after they were imported? Are they on an external hard drive that is disconnected? It would seem that something like that has happened that has made the images "disappear".
