Exporting Tiff and JPEG Simultaneously Onto Desktop ( I don't want this to occur)

As of yesterday, when I export a tif file to my desktop, it is now creating a folder titled "2024" and exporting the tiff file(s) to it while also exporting the jpeg (w/watermark) to my desktop directly. Prior to yesterday, I was able to just export the jpeg to my desktop.

How do I remedy this situation?

Thank you in advance for your feedback.

What file type, and where, is the image that you are exporting this JPG copy from?

Is that (for example) a camera Raw or a camera JPG, or is this the "the TIFF" that you have referred to? I have never encountered an Export action changing the folder location of the original source file concerned; altering the folder location of any file that already existed, for that matter.

Export makes new files (or otherwise overwrites in-place).

You have also mentioned an IMPORT action and this did s

OK, thanks, that helps. Your starting import needs to NOT be a "Move" type, if you want that beginning TIFF to stay where it is.

If you don't want to create an additional copy of this TIFF during import, then that needs to NOT be a "Copy" either.

What's left is an "Add", which simply leaves your TIFF alone. From this latest info I strongly doubt that Export had anything to do with your TIFF moving its own location. That was the Import almost certainly.

If you want your export of the JPG to go to your Desktop and not into a 2024 folder then you need to click Choose and direct your export to the Desktop itself, as a specific destination. I posted a screenshot recently showing yellow highlighted destination info, and a red arrow pointing to the Choose button whereby you can change that.

@richardplondonI followed your latest instructions, and that problem no longer exists!

Once again, I can simply export the imported tiff to my desktop without any type of folder showing up, as well. Also, the original tiff remained in its original folder.

Someway, somwhow, I must have inadvertently changed the setting when importing.

I can't thank you enough for your experise on this matter.

Be Well,
