Folder issue after upgrade to new computer and LrC

I'm having a somewhat different issue. I upgraded to LR Classic 13.0.1 on an new computer.

First I copied the files and folder structure from the old computer (Win7) to the new computer (Win11). Used the "How to Move Lightroom to New Computer" ebook steps.

Then I downloaded LrC onto the new computer and opened it. Navigated to the copy of the old catalog file and opened it. LrC upgraded the catalog file and renamed it. The new catalog then opened and I seemed to be back in business.

Well, mostly ...

It seems that most (perhaps nearly all) of the imported files are there with the edits and information.

However, I have a set of folders that I use to stage images that I download from the camera prior to import. I can't get LrC to display all of the folders and image files that are in these folders in the folders panel - one of the subfolders shows up, two folders (both with image files) have their names show up but they are grayed out and their subfolders won't display), and three subfolders also there will  not show up in the folderspanel at all.

No  exclamation points are question marks involved (as one might expect for misplaced files); they just won't display at all.

I don't get it. They display just fine in Windows Explorer and I can see the image thumbnails. But in the LrC Folders panel they just can't be found. I'm mystified.

Hmm. I just tried to open an Import dialog to see what would happen. Seems I am able to navigate to the subfolders in the D500 subfolder of the Nikon Transfer folder and the images show up just fine. The import seems to have worked too with the Import preset that came over with the move tothe new computer.

So maybe there's not much of an issue. I still don't understand why one subfolder shows but the rest of the directory structure is grayed out or doesn't show at all. Images should still be vie

"However, I have a set of folders that I use to stage images that I download from the camera prior to import."  That is confusing because, unless Imported, they shouldn't display.    Could you elaborate?  Maybe some screen shots?

top image is what I have ib Windows Explorer. 2nd image is what shows in LrC's folderpanel.

The Nikon Transfer folder in LrC is clearly not showing what is in the Windoes Explorer frame.

Is there a LrC setting that I need to update? A preference?

Is is it a Windows issue? (I don't see why since Windows has the correct information.)

AsRob Cullen informedme on my thread at Lightroom Queen, I'll have to import from those "unseen" folders before they'll show up in the folder list in LrC. I'll be doing that in the near future, so I guess that answers my question.
