Hi there, can you please help?
I have created some presets in groups, but for all of the presets, the amount slider is greyed out.
I selected one of my presets and clicked the plus button to convert it to a new preset with the amount slider checked. However, after doing this, when I click on the preset, the amount slider is still greyed out.
Are there any settings that need to be adjusted to get the amount slider to work? What am I doing wrong?
For reference I am on a MacBook Pro.
Thank you.

Here is some of the XMP data from one of my presets for your perusal so you might be able to see where I'm going wrong.

Not everything in a preset supports the amount slider. Your preset contains specific values for white balance sliders. I wonder if that is the reason, because Temperature cannot be lower than 2000, but setting the Amount slider to about 30% or less would do that.

Thanks for your reply and letting me know.
As I said, I clicked on one of the presets and clicked the plus button to create brand-new one with the same settings but with the amount slider checked, however with the new preset created the amount slider still greyed out.
Is there any reason why this could be?

I realized that shortly after I had posted my reply, so I changed it: Not everything in a preset supports the amount slider. Your preset contains specific values for white balance sliders. I wonder if that is the reason, because Temperature cannot be lower than 2000, but setting the Amount slider to about 30% or less would do that.

Thank you again. I've been doing some research and I thought that this was the case that not every preset supports the amount slider.
I will have a look at my presets and hopefully make some changes.

It is a known fact that the Amount slider does not support all possible preset settings. There are quite a few threads about this already. One easy to understand example is setting the image to B&W. An image is either color or B&W, it can't be 43% B&W, so the Amount slider is not supported if your preset contains this.
I am pretty sure that setting the white balance in a preset will disable the Amount slider too. The Amount slider decreases or increases the overall effect of a preset, but think about what setting the slider at 50% would do for crs:Temperature="5750". It would not decrease/increase the effect of the preset, but drastically change the color! And -as already mentioned- it would also enable an 'impossible WB setting', like Temperature < 2000.

My skill set is not up to snuff to actually answer this. Not a coder. But in your xmp, a couple of lines have url links in them. The second one fails.
now, a simple Google search on "http://ns.adobe.com/camera-raw-settings/1.0/ " yields:
And on that web page, the link in question is shown:
But clicking on it fails.
Perhaps a web Site is down?
Or is this some sort of symbolic link that actually takes you to something on your computer. Something that needs to previously exist?

AFAIK, that is just some information. The preset is not going to visit those links and so this should have nothing to do with not supporting the Amount slider. https://developer.adobe.com/xmp/docs/XMPSpecifications/

Agreed. The links are just part of internal XMP.
Copying the text and creating a preset from it allows me to use the Amount slider once I've applied the preset. I've just renamed it internally for an easier search and delete.
