How can I turn a b/w photo into grayscale using either Lightroom or Photoshop?

Thanks.

This is currently not possible on the iPad, neither in Photoshop for Mobile nor in Lightroom Mobile.

You can request this as a feature here:

Hi @es220 , do you use Lightroom Classic, or the new Lightroom CC app?

@es220 , I just moved your post to the forum for LR Classic, where I hope others who can speak better to your question.

Lightroom-CLASSIC always works in RGB, but you can Develop as "Black&White".

2021-06-09 07_38_18-Roberts Catalog-v10 - Adobe Photoshop Lightroom Classic - Develop.jpg

Photoshop has the MENU: Image > Mode > Greyscale.

2021-06-09 07_39_09-© 5479-Edt2.tif @ 50% (RGB_16).jpg

But I ask- Why do you want "Greyscale"?  Editing a photo as a Monochrome has far greater possibilities to adjust tonal values if the three 'color' channels (RGB) remain in the file.(Greyscale has only one channel)

eg. Using a B&W Adjustment Layer in Photoshop.

Regards. My System: Lightroom-Classic 13.2 Photoshop 25.5, ACR 16.2, Lightroom 7.2, Lr-iOS 9.0.1, Bridge 14.0.2, Windows-11.
