You can just cancel out oh Photos (without importing), and proceed with your Lightroom import.

Photos has has an option to "not" run automatically when a card is inserted I've had mixed luck with that.

thanks for the tip Ståle F. That soft link is a perfect solution to let LR recognize the photos.

In my case it looked like this using a terminal window:

cd /Users/arnthor/Pictures

ln -s iPhoto\ Library/Masters/ ./xiPhoto

Making a second copy of the photos is a messy workaround

Should remember to use my old Unix skills more often on the Mac

Drag from iphoto to any folder you want, each event separately (better to crate new folder for each event). Then import each folder separately in lightroom.

That is it.

Actually, there is a simple way - just select all your events, export it as originals, and choose - create folders with events name. Then this folders import in Lightroom. That's it.

A piece of cake.

Hi,

I am trying to download photos directly from my camera card into Lightroom, but since I already have iphoto set up on my desktop, it tries to open and import the photos directly into iphoto. How do I intervene to send photos directly into Lightroom? Thanks for any help!
