Hello,
yesterday, following a discussion about lightroom 6 and it's upgrade, I upgraded to lightroom since thinking, that I can have tethering for my Nikon D5500, but unfortunately it seems that I need lightroom 6.4 for that.... so how can i do the update, and is it going to be free?
thank you for your help.
I have reviewed your Adobe ID (email address) that you have utilized to post here and found that you have subscriptions for Premiere Pro CC & After Effects CC and a license for Lightroom 6.
Lightroom 6 since is a stand alone app hence it would not show up in the Creative Cloud desktop app, in order to update it go to help>update or directly do it from the link i have shared.
As the question you have is related to tethering hence moving this thread to Lightroom Classic CC.

Hi Soulefz23374473,
As you have mentioned you would like to update your Lightroom 6 to the latest version, the last and the most current version of Lightroom 6 stand alone license is 6.13.
You may use the following link to download and install the update directly: Keep your Lightroom version up to date.
Let us know if this helps.

6.3 is in relation with your OS. I am currently on a Windows 7 system and my version is 6.1. But my Lightroom is Lightroom 7.0 . Quite confusing! 🙂
Lightroom Classic version: 7.0 [ 1140024 ]
License: Creative Cloud
Operating system: Windows 7
Version: 6.1
To answer your initial question (Bani Verma's link does unfortunately not show 6.13):
The base version of your Lightroom is Lightroom 6. So you are entitled for free upgrades of all dot versions (.1-.13, including the final not yet released .14) . There is, however, no reason to upgrade to 6.4 only, because 6.13 includes all 6.4 stuff and additional new cameras and lenses and some bug fixes.
here is the link to use: Download Photoshop Lightroom .
Download and install the 6.13 version atop of your 6.0. It's free.
IMHO: You should have gone to the full creative cloud with the 2 products you have subscribed and a little more you would have gotten the complete creative cloud, including some very useful additional programs for your Premiere and After Effects: Audition, Photoshop (also great for your photo work), Illustrator...

Hi soulefz,
Nikon D5500 requires Lightroom version 6.4 or above for tethering support. Do you have the version 6.4 or above installed on your computer? We recently released an update for Lightroom 6.13. Were you able to manually install the update from this direct link listed in this page Download Photoshop Lightroom
If you have the latest version installed and unable to tether your camera in Lightroom 6.13, Please check out this article Fix tethered shooting in Lightroom and let us know if that helps.
Thanks,
Akash
