How do I remove the crop guides when done?

I am using the crop guides (keyboard O) but when finished how do I remove them to continue? When I select keyboard R the crop tool disappears completely and on re selection the guides are still there. I only want to refer to them and not have them visible all the time.

Which version of LR are you using?

I am on Lightroom Classic CC, the latest version, and typing the letter R brings up the crop tool and pressing R again makes it go away.

In the develop module (which you open when you press R) you can adjust the crop rectangle as needed using the right hand panel. When you press Enter on the keyboard, the crop becomes effective. Pressing R again makes the crop rectangle reappear.

Also once you press R, you can then press O to cycle through the "Crop Guide Overlays, which you can also find under the Tools in the top menu bar.

Press the H key to hide the overlay.
