How to increase the width of multiple photos on a white background

I have a bunch of product photos on solid white backgrounds that are all 1:1 aspect ratio.

I need something more like 4:3 or even 16:9, and the easiest thing to do would be to just extend the sides of the photo with more white.

But how can I do this in Lightroom and do it across hundreds of photos?

If what you are asking about is to place a 1:1 image on a 4:3 or 16:9 white background, this can be done in the Lr print module by setting up the 4:3 or 16:9 ratio in the Page Setup and setting the cell size for whatever you want it to be (i.e. how large the image will appear relative to the white background).

These print parameters can be saved as a print preset, which you can then apply to all the images in question.

You can crop the image to either of those aspect ratios. But if you want to Add to the canvas that is something you can only do in a program like Photoshop. LR can't do that.
