Seems I have 2 versions of LR on my mac now, so confused.

If I go to the mac os applications folder, I see:

Adobe Lightroom Classic

and...

Adobe Lightroom Classic CC

If I run Adobe Lightroom Classic system info shows the version to be "Lightroom Classic version: 8.3"

If I run the Adobe Lightroom Classic CC system info shows the version to be "Lightroom Classic version: 8.2.1"

How did I wind up with 2 versions and with different names?

Can I uninstall/delete the Adobe Lightroom Classic CC version 8.2.1 ?

Hi Patrick,

As you have to versions of Lightroom Classic on the Mac after the recent update, you can uninstall the older version which is 8.2.1

Also, please check these articles to know more about the changes and new features in the newer Lightroom Classic:

Was the name changed to remove the "CC" from the end of the app name?

Yes CC has gone from the names but confusingly there will be lots of internet links relating to previous CC versions of Lightroom.

Normally you would update from the Apps tab in Creative Cloud and the old version would get uninstalled, unless your prefs were set to keep older versions. But only the last two versions are authorized.

It's far to easy to click install rather than update.

I would just make sure Creative Cloud is up to date. Then keeping prefs should only relate to your preferred user settings. I clicked update today next to Classic and Finder shows no previous versions so I can’t explain why your Mac shows two different versions unless you used a different download method.

If necessary you can uninstall from Utilities >> Adobe Installers
