I've just discovered that I 'Added' rather than 'Copied' my last few imports from an SD card to Lightroom. There are now around 800 images in LR that I can only access when the SD card is inserted into my Mac.
Usually my imported photos are saved onto my external hard drive. Preview images appear in LR when my SD card is not inserted, but I am unable to edit the images in Develop mode without inserting the SD card.
I just wondered if there is an easy way to move them to my external hard drive without having to re-import them (as I've already edited some of the photos)?
Many thanks in advance.
Using your operating system, copy the photos from the SD card to some folder you want them to be in on the hard disk. Then point Lightroom Classic to the that new folder using the Update Folder Location Command. (http://www.computer-darkroom.com/lr2_find_folder/find-folder.htm) No importing needed, in fact importing is the wrong thing to do here.

In Lightroom Classic, with the SD card inserted, Move them to another folder in the Folders Panel.

P.S.
This does not sound possible. LrC should have not allowed an ADD via an SD card. Not sure how you did that using the normal Import dialog within LrC.

On a proper hard drive?
