Issue: When Imported photos to my NAS, it would appear that the import failed as the photos aren't displayed. However, upon Restarting Lightroom, the new folder with the photos appear properly.

  • Lightroom Classic Version Number: 13.0.2
  • OS Version Number: Windows 11 Pro 23H2 Build: 22631.2715

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Import photos from camera card to NAS folder (NAS is showing activity)
  2. Import is finished; photos are not present.
  3. Reboot Lightroom. New folder shows in hiearchy with photos inside.

Expected result: Imported photos to be shown immediately after import.
Actual result: Photos and new folder do not appear to be imported.

No, it jumps to previous imports automatically, as it should, but it is empty until I restart lightroom.

Where is Lightroom installed and where is your catalog folder?   How long has it been since it was working correctly?

Lightroom and my catalog are in drive C:. I'm aware that catalogs must be on the main drive. Lightroom has always worked as it should; this is just the first time I'm trying to import directly to my NAS, so I'm not sure if this was an issue on previous versions.

In the import, are you selecting Copy, Copy as DNG, or Add.

For a NAS, it might be better to copy the photos to the NAS, then in LrC, import using Add.

I'm using the copy option. I could use the method you mentioned. I was just hoping the normal way would work. I'm also curious if what I'm experiencing is the expected outcome or an issue.

Not expected, it is an issue. But LrC and NAS (for photo location) can be tepermental.
