Initial Import

New Here ,
Nov 07, 2016 Nov 07, 2016

I just recently imported folders into Lr from previous software. My original folder had 74 photos, each photo was created twice - one as a jpg file and one as a raw file. The folder created in LR has 37 thumbnails, the info above the photo shows the file name and says jpg + raw. how do I seperate these overlayed files and use them seperately?

Open Preferences [Ctrl+, ] the General tab has import options-

ScreenShot304.jpg

Place a tick in the option "Treat JPEG files next to raw files as separate photos"

Re-start Lightroom.

Import, from the same folder again, (using 'ADD') you will now see the JPGs available to import to the library.
