Is Lr 6 already installed before upgrading the MACOS?

If not, no, the installer is 32 bit, will not run MACOS Catalina or newer.

I believe so, yes.

It says this on the Apple support page:

If upgrading from macOS Sierra or later, your Mac needs 26 GB of available storage to upgrade. If upgrading from an earlier release, your Mac needs up to 44 GB of available storage.

My iMac mid-2015 is not supported beyond Mac Big Sur,

I cannot remember what version it was when I purchased.

That's a shame.

I have a Macbook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Early 2015), which is listed as a compatible model on the Apple support page.

Yes and no. Yes, if  installed prior to an OS that needs a 64-bit installer, it will run but far from ideally for a number of reasons. I am running (ocassionally) LR5 under Monterery, installed years and years ago under an older OS of course. Maps is broken completely. There are other bugs and a large lack of camera, lens support etc but yes, it runs. I wouldn't run such an old application seriously, I run LR5 mainly for testing and having an older catalog on 'parity' with a modern version but I don't us this seriously nor expect to do so into the future.
