Hi,
Ever since I updated to 15.0 yesterday on my windows 11, I cannot see what/how much blur I am putting on my photos in Lightroom. I'm having to export before I can tell then blindly adjust. Is there anything that can be done about this? It's driving me nuts and waisting a ton of precious time...

Hi @ManyHatsatWork, welcome to the community!
I gave this a try on my end but wasn’t able to reproduce the issue. Just to clarify, when you apply Lens Blur, does the photo not update at all with the changes? Does this only happen with that specific tool and with a particular image?
If you can, please share a few more details, like a screenshot or a screen recording showing your workflow and where the issue comes up. That would really help us take a closer look.
Thanks so much!
Alek

Hello, @Aleke, thank you for your response.
I've only noticed the issue when I'm trying to use the blur backround presets or manually doing them in the lens blur panel. In lightroom, the photos (any photo) appears to have no blur no matter what I do but if I export and view in Window's preview the photo has blur and very often too much so I have to blindly adjust and reexport before I can make another adjustment. Any ideas?
I have attached two minor examples here; one how it appears in lightroom and one of the exported version.
Thanks!

Here's my Lens Blur isssue - copied from Lightroom Queen Forum :-
Re-editing some old "Favourite" photos to show on my wife's Photo frame. Working on a .jpg previously edited with Lens Blur included successfully. Removed some distractions to improve the composition. Updated AI Edit Status button and background blur was gone. Fiddled around in the Lens Blur panel trying various things even trying a reset on a virtual copy. Background not blurring and Visualise checkbox not showing the depth mask. Lens blur has always been somewhat slow on my PC which is reasonably specd.
So tried exporting the photo without edits to Photoshop Beta (latest update) and opened in ACR filter. Lens Blur worked perfectly and much more quickly than in LRc. Visualisation showed depth mask. So, cannot be a resources or hardware issue in LRc as now I am working with both LRc and Photoshop open at the same time running a dual display so can flip easily from one to the other.
Can anyone confirm if they are experiencing this behaviour in LRc 15.0?
Thanks, Barry
Attached screen shot shows no blur in background or Visualisation depth map

I have the same problem, but it does not always appear and restarting LRC (15) seems to clear the problem for a while until a fresh restart is needed. I am on a Mac Tahoe 16.0.1. LRC 15.0.

I am having the same issue after updating. Never had the problem before the update. I will be working on photos and all of a sudden the amount of blur I am applying, isn't showing in real time. I have to close the program and restart to fix. Work on a few more photos and have to close and restart the program again. I am working on Mac Sequoia 15.6.1. It is quite random. I am working on Raw files, not .jpg.

No LR does not react at all. After restarting the program all is well again. I made two screenshots to illustrate the issue, one with blur set to 100% and Focus range set to zero and one with blur set to 100% and Focus range set to full. As you can see, none of these settings made any difference. After restarting, however, the last setting was applied.

Hey all! @lagedor222, @stephanie_1314, @benjaminh35426781, @Barryvcns & @ManyHatsatWork.
Before you exit Lightroom Classic > go to Lightroom Classic /edit > Preferences > Performance > Optimize Catalog... & proceed with restarting Lightroom Classic.
Let me know if the issue exists after restarting Photoshop.
Thanks!

Since updating to 15 the lens blur function no longer works. If i apply it to a photo nothing happens even after analyzing. photos that once had it applied now do not and updating AI settings isn't fixing it.
I have tried backing up and checking catalog integrity as some users have suggested but the problem is till here. I'm very close to finishing a wedding edit but this bug has put me back massively.

There have been a few other reports about problems with Lens Blur in LR 15.
Please do the LR menu command Help > System Info and copy/paste the entire contents here so we can see exactly which versions of hardware and software LR thinks you're running and important LR options that are set.

@benjaminh35426781: "DirectX: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 (32.0.15.8180)"
That graphics driver is a Game Ready driver. But Nvidia and Adobe recommend using Studio drivers, which get more testing with creative apps like LR. You can download the latest Studio driver from here:
https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/drivers/details/257327/
To help others, let us know if that fixes the issue.

@benjaminh35426781: "It is yes because I also game on this PC. I've never had an issue using it before and it's only on lr15 that this bug has appeared"
LR uses the GPU much differently than nearly another other app, especially games. Games generate gazillions of shaded triangles per second, while LR executes its render pipeline on still images and AI models on arrays of pixels. Thus it's often the case that when LR trips over a driver bug, it's the only app users see having problems.
Nvidia releases a Game Ready driver about twice a month plus or minus. Once a month it takes one of those drivers and does the extra testing with creative apps and releases it as a Studio driver. So a Studio driver is just a Game Ready driver that's a couple three weeks old.

Make sure you shut down your computer after updating your driver. Then reboot the computer.
