Hello,
I have a drone movie I'd love to bring into Light Room. I have the .mov file and I converted it in media Encoder into .mp4. LR is saying: "Video not supported in Develop."
Can anyone tell me why a simple video can't be imported? in .mov or .mp4 format?
Thanks!
Hi,
Just to clarify: your video was indeed imported. This is different from being supported in the Develop module. Lightroom will not allow you to use the Develop module with any video; it isn't a video editor.
However, there are some workarounds in which you can apply some Develop settings to videos. See this link, for example:

Thank you Mike. I may be in the wrong spot or I may need to go to the Collection to edit. I've put the filtered effects on video before in LR then exported.

You can add Develop presets from the Library module (some parameters may not apply with video). You just can't access videos in the Develop module.

In Library, view the video in Loupe view and capture a frame as a JPEG. Edit the JPEG in Develop, and sync it to the video.

Yes, this link/tip worked!
Its strange. I don't think I ran into this the last time I put one of the video presets on a clip.
Thanks for everyone's input!
