a few years ago I purchased Lightroom 5, 64bit  *(5.5)  as my laptop MacBook pro is really old I went out to purchase a new one, how can I transfer my Lightroom over to the new laptop.?

Download LR 5.7.1 (the most current version of LR 5) from here.

Download Photoshop Lightroom

Install that on your new computer.

Have your serial number for LR handy when installing.

the problem I have is I've lost the email transaction and the serial Number... is there a way to find my SN ??

Serial number- /Users/[user name]/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Lightroom/Lightroom 5.0 Registration

Did you ever register LR on the Adobe website under your Adobe ID?

If you did you can find your serial number there.

If you have your old computer and it still runs you can find the serial number in a text file on the hard drive.
