Lightroom 6 will not install

I have downloaded Lightroom 6 in a computer that crashed. I am trying to reinstall LR 6 but when I try to extract the file, it shows Adobe Acrobat X as the default and will not open/extract the LR 6 file.

What am I missing?

You are missing first to tell us your OS and Computer version.

Also: did you download LR6 and therefore did you computer crash?

Or did LR run and the computer crashed?

What did you do after the crash?

Could you post screen shots of what happens?

I am running Win 7

I had LR6 running just fine before I had the Win7 reinstall, I just can't extract the LR 6 download file, double clicking send me to Adobe Acrobat X, which tells me it doesn't recognize the file.

My Canon software installs without any problem.

You are double clicking the wrong file. or you associated the wrong file extension to the wrong programs. Please post the filename and extension here as @dj_paige suggests. Please look also into @F.McLion link.
