So I'm having a bit of trouble with my iMac that I recently updated to Monterey 12.3.1. When I first opened Lightroom it said "Lightroom cannot write to the following directories. Until this problem is resolved, syncing from Lightroom may not function correctly". I was never syncing photos so I didn't worry about it. Then I tried to open a photo from Lightroom in photoshop and it said "Could not open “Image number.CR3” because of a disk error." At that point, I still didn't know what it meant but I ended up just dragging the photos into photoshop. Then as I saved them and tried to export them out of lightroom it said " Some exports operations were not performed and the file could not be written. Everything is vague and not giving any buttons are actions to take towards fixing. I'm Not sure what to do and everything on youtube I tried. I'm starting to believe that it's just the update because in all of my 3 Macbook pros and iMacs I've never had this happen. Is there a solution?

Go to MacOS 'System Settings - Security & Privacy' and add Lightroom Classic to 'Full Disk Access'. If it is not already listed, click on the lock icon in the lower left corner to unlock it, then press the plus button and add Lightroom Classic.

This is 2023 and I have the same issue. I restored LR Classic from my Mac backup as I am switching back to to Windows 10. The catalog appears to be working with the exception of the error nessage poitning to /Users. What do I have to do to fix this? In the meantime I have searched my Pictures folder and deleted all .ZIP files as this error did not show up until I copy and pasted my Mac backup and i unzipped it.

In Preferences - Lightroom Sync you need to change the location for synced images from /Users to a folder that Lightroom does have permissions to write to. Lightroom does not have, and should not have, permissions to write to the Users folder.

That worked; thank you very much!
