Hi - Windows 7 and Lightroom (2015.8) / 6.8 update - the Adobe Application Manager tried to install the update and asks me to close LR. So I close LR and press continue - and the AAM aks me to close LR over and over again... If I stop the LR-process with the task manager the AAM is also gone...
Shutdown of the PC now needs 15 minutes, LR is not usable, if I want to close LR now, it shows a message like "collecting informations"... But it is still the old Version 6.7
Hi all,
We're tracking this install issue and would like to gather some logs. Could you please follow the instructions here to produce a log so that we can track down where the corrupted file is hosted? Log Collector Tool
Please send them to me at rios [at] adobe [dot] com with the subject line "Lightroom 2015.8/6.8 Error U44M1P7: CRC Assets1_1.zip".
Thank you,
Melissa

Melissa, thanks for acknowledging that there is problem with the Installer, a step in the right direction. Given that this issue has existed since LR 6 was first released it's disappointing that this admission has taken so long.
Can I suggest that the next version of LR is first issued with a Release Candidate for users to try out, a sensible procedure that was used with previous versions.

RaphaBonelli,
I only received one user's logs 7 hours ago. We'll need more logs from other users affected to investigate. I'll find some other way for you to install though.
Please send me your logs!

Hi Melissa.
I solved the problem asking for my friends to use the direct download (send the link to them). One of them also got the corrupted file... but two got a working file (each one of them tried to decompress the file to see if it was OK). They sent me the .zip through WeTransfer and I could update my Lightroom.
People with problems can try that too, using other computers, on different networks or ISP to get a working file.
Worked for me.
Anyway, thanks for all your attention!

axmelissarios1 Hello Melissa, you have to move the "correct answer" flag from your post to RaphaBonelli dropbox link since that's the actual solution (and jayparedes was the one that come with the right diagnosis). I was confused for your flag as the correct answer and almost didn't keep reading because until that point it was looking as no answer. I know other users scanning thru the post won't be able to see the link to the dropbox. Please fix, thanks!

Lightroom CC2015.8 Update on Windows 10. Same problem here, I did everything, I've tried to install it both ways, with creative cloud and with a corrupted setup.zip and there's no solution.
I'm sending my log, please check that setup.zip on server, the folder Assets1_1 is corrupted.
Thanks

Please describe your problem in detail, and state what things you have tried.

I am a CC full subscription user-have been for 3 years. Windows user.
I had CC with LR(6.8), PS, DW, Acrobat, Media Encoder working without problem on a Win10 Pro desktop and Win10 Pro Laptop. All versions were current (LR@6.8). No problem until:
I bought a new W10 desktop computer and deactivated the Laptop so I had an open CC install.
So I did the same procedure I've done many times before. Installed the CC program on the new computrer and then downloaded my apps. I figured that all apps would install with the most current version, I mean who'd expect an old version with a fresh install since its a web download. Seemed true for all but LR which installed as 6.3 (huh!, I installed late Feb 2017). I then got the CC notice for LR "update available."
Same problem as reported in this thread "error u44m1p7." I tried the solutions recommended by Adobe for this error:
https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/error-u44m1p7-installing-updates-ccm.html
None of them worked and I got the unzip CRC error when I downloaded the update manually.
Two call two tech support with two remote sessions to my computer. Each lasted about 1 hour and lots of changes to permission on Adobe folders, downloads, reinstall of LR, all while I watched my desktop changing under remote control. Trusting person I am (maybe I shouldn't be LOL).
Each time no solution. and each time the tech said he will escalate the problem and Adobe will call back in 1-2 hrs 1st session (never called) or 10-20 minutes 2nd session (never called).
Really not happy so I went to the LR Adobe forum (should have done this first but never had any problem with CC or LR ever!).
The solution that worked was to use the dropbox setup file provided by RaphaBonelli (which unzips with no CRC errors):
https://www.dropbox.com/s/rii23fo0716vfxo/setup.zip?dl=0
The date this worked for me is March 1, 2017. Yep, March 1, 2017 and the problem is still occurring when you update LR via the CC program or you follow the Adobe advice and try their 4 solution (helpx link) or call tech support.
Live and learn but what a gigantic waste of my time. I hope this saves someone else some time.
