Lightroom CC does not export "Valid Lightroom Catalog"

New Here ,

I often share catalog files with other photographers. In the past this has not been a problem. When I "export as catalog" from the latest version of Lightroom Classic CC and then try to import that catalog on another machine (also running the latest version of Lightroom Classic CC), Lightroom does not open the catalog, but gives me this message:

"Lightroom cannot import from this catalog.

The catalog does not appear to be a valid Lightroom catalog."

Both machines are running that latest updated version of Lightroom Classic CC. Any help?

Did you try to open that exported catalog on the same computer it was created on?

Did you try to "Import from another catalog" on the same computer?

I just exported some images as a catalog then opened that exported catalog, no problems, then imported that exported catalog into another test catalog all on the same computer without any problems.

I suspect when you copied the exported catalog to the external drive it got corrupted in some way.
