Lightroom Classic 8.2 update issues

First off, opening in Loupe or Survey view from grid view opens on top of grid view

Solo mode turned off

Expanded grid view set back to default compact cells

Half my custom Export presets gone

Moving from one folder to another, some from last folder show in new folder

GAHHHHH Lots of problems! May be more!

Anybody else having trouble w/this update?

In LR click on Help, click on System Information, click on a Copy. Paste into reply.

And nope, not having those issues. Mind you, Enhance Detail was not mentioned ( by far biggest issue right now)  Nor complaining about Windows 10 version 1809. (Goes with biggest issue right now)

First up, while most of Lightroom Classic CC will work, or is supposed to work with your version of Windows 10, the Photo Enhance Detail feature just added will not. You need to update to version 1809, that shows up as build 17763.

Now lots of bitching about that.

(1) But auto update has me at latest version,

Well no it does not.

(2) But Microsoft pulled that back

Yes they did, fixed the issue and restarted the rollout 19 January 2018.

When MS places a major update out their, they do it in a rollout, it gets delivered in stages. Voulenter users (think Beta testers) first, the remainder a mystery. And your auto Update will nit get that Update until it is your undefined turn.

Now be aware a lot of users are having issues with Enhance Detail. Adobe is aware and the issue has been bumped up to the Engineers. If you try it only to get a black preview, the your having that issue.

Not a clue if it is with Lightroom, the Camera RAW, the various GPU’s customers have or some combination involving DirectX

Also be aware several bits of moaning (trying to not get censored) about Adobe putting out something that requires OS updates, as if it is Adobe’s responsibility to Update your OS for you, or to get on Microsoft’s case to pick up the slack.

A bit of moaning that the Update should of checked for this first and Adobe should have warned users. Will except for the one feature, previous OS works, and you do get a nasty gram if you try to use Enhance without the OS. And Adobe did put out that first link.

Teo things, GPU’s that old looking are typically having the issues with Enhance, so do nit get your hopes up on that today.

And NVIDIA appears to have published lots of driver updates two days ago. So you will want to check that

Working on Windows 10

Returning to your current issues. Have you attempted to reset your preferences? The preference file can get corrupted. From one of the links below, “buggy” behavor can be caused but this.

And just in case, as you are not on a 4K or 5K display, use of Graphics  Processor May be more of a hindered effort than useful, should you have that turned on. It can cause graphic issues, and performance issues

Now that Enhance Detail feature does undead heavily use the GPU, and your CPU, it is a real processor hog, but that particular preference setting does not enter in that. So, you can turn it off (if on)

Turning that off is often a diagnostic request on buggy LR.

Rethinking export presets. Are those as in the preferences file external editing settings? And missing from their?

could be another indicator of a corrupted preference file.
