Lightroom Classic: capture date in grid view incorrect when EXIF data on imported image is correct

I have started moving images previously stored in Mac Photos. All of these images have had the time/date and location metadata added in Mac Photos, and then exported as a modified image, NOT as an unmodified original so as to preserve the edit and the metadata. I am exporting them to folders in Finder, and then importing them into Lightroom from these folders. I am not using any batch import tools specifically so I don’t lose the edits and metadata on the images.

I have imported a couple of thousand images. All the images imported had time/date metadata as shown in the Mac Preview image of a file in a folder under the management of LrC and shows the Digitised and Original Date Time as 15 Jun 1982 at 03:26:00.

If you then look at the file inside LrC, the date and time in the EXIF panel on the right are identical to the EXIF data shown in the Preview, so it was imported with the correct date/time info, yet the date/time info in the grid view top label is incorrect, and it appears to be using this date to sort Capture Time. I have scanned the message boards and most point to the incorrect metadata in the imported file but in this case that data is correct so what is the problem?

When I open the Edit Capture Time window, the time seems always to correlate but the date doesn't

I have also noted if I then edit the date within Lightroom using Metadat>Edit capture time it adds another date/time field to the Lightroom EXIF data.

As I have already imported a few thousand images, having spent literally hours adding the metadta to the file before import, I hope there is a workaround or fix as manually correcting each image would be a duplication of a lot of effort.
