LRC v13.2m /Camera Raw v 16.2 (Windows). I use a Canon EOS Rebel SL1. I am unable to import .cr2 files into LRC. The software doesn't recognize my latest .cr2 files. Older .cr2 files (which I was able to import in prior versions of LRC) are listed with a "Preview Unavailable for This File" message, and when I try to import them, I get a the error message "The file appears to be unsupported or damaged".  I am able to open the same (old and new) .cr2 files in Photoshop's camera raw. All my raw files are on my hardrive.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled LRC. No change. Anyone have suggestions on how to resolved this? Thanks.

"The file appears to be unsupported or damaged"

File type from that camera is clearly supported, so the files must be damaged somehow. This can happen with a bad camera card or bad card reader or hard disk malfunction or even the camera itself isn't writing to the camera card correctly. Try importing using a different card reader or other hardware. Try taking pictures using a different camera card.

In addition to dj_paige's troubleshooting steps, upload one of the problem files to Dropbox, Google Drive, or similar and post the sharing link here. We can quickly verify whether the file opens in other LR installations (and infer whether it's damaged or not).
