Lightroom Classic Not Recognising Image Files To Import.

Hi Everyone,

Something very weird has just started to happen with Lightroom Classic (current version 13.1).

It has has suddenly stopped recognising the photo files (RAW/NEF and/or JPGs) when importing into my LR catalog.  It doesn't matter whether it's from my Mac M1 Studio hard drive, my NAS or a USB connected hard drive, I just get a blank screen per the attached screenshot.  It can see the folder the images are located in but not the images themselves.  I'm using a 2022 Mac Studio M1 with Sonoma 14.3.  All OS & apps are up to date.

I can still see all images I imported into my LR catalog before this happened without issue.  I have tried de-installing and re-installing LR as well as creating a new, empty LR catalogue but the issue is still the same.  It doesn't happen on my 2017 iMac which is running Ventura 13.4.6 with the same version LR as on my Mac Studio.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Thank you.

MacOS 14.3 Sonoma is a beta version. I would suggest that you revert to version 14.2.1.

Thank you for your response. The OS version has been in place since before this issue started.

LrC 13.1 is not functioning properly?

It doesn't happen on my 2017 iMac which is running Ventura 13.4.6.

LrC 13.1 functions properly on the 2017 iMac?

Hello.  Yes LR 13.1 functions properly on my 2017 iMac, that is to say, it is able to "see" all folders and images and will import images without issue.

Check that Lightroom Classic still has 'full disk access'. https://community.adobe.com/t5/lightroom-classic-discussions/quick-tips-how-to-give-full-disk-access...

Hello!  OK it did have Full Disk Access, but I toggled it on and off and re-booted my computer and now LR can "see" the images in the folder structure (screenshot attached), however, if I try to import images, the same issue is still there, the images just don't show up for importing.  (2nd screenshot attached).

Could it be something related to the file type?  They are all .NEF/.DNG/.JPG files.

Thank you @JohanElzenga , @CumberLinda & @DdeGannes.. I have managed to fix the problem.  I fixed it by running the LightroomCorrectPermissions.sh file that I found elsehwere on this page as well as resetting the Lightroom Preferences.  I also re-booted a couple of times in Recovery Mode.  I'm not sure whether just 1 of these fixed the problem or a combination of them but the outcome is that I can now see my images in those folders and can import them!  Many thanks to you all for your help and patience!!  🙂

Are you sure you have Sonoma 14.3? As others have said, that version is still in early Beta. Your issue sounds like a known problem with Sonoma 14.2.0, fixed by updating to 14.2.1.

Hello, yes I am sure.  I have access to the Apple Beta program.  The issue wasn't present in 14.2.0 and this started some weeks after installing 14.2.1 with images successfully installed with 14.2.1.
