Lightroom classic on iMac, with Loupedeck+

New Here ,

I use an iMac with the latest version of the OS.

Lightroom classic version 14.4 (latest} an also the latest version of the Loupedeck software, UI:6.1.4.22647;LPS:6.1.4.22653.

When I reboot my iMac, all software is loaded, and when I start LrC, my Loupedeck works as expected.

So far, so good.

Once I quit LrC, and reopen it, no dials or buttons on the Loupedeck react.

Only a reboot gets it going again.

When I connect the same Loupedeck device to my Macbook, all is working fine, every time I start LrC.

I think this proves correct functioning of the Loupedeck device.

Any help is much appriciated.

At that point has the Loupedeck stopped working only in Lightroom Classic, or in other Mac apps as well?

If it stops working only in Lightroom Classic, then maybe it’s an issue with their Lightroom Classic plug-in.

If it stops working in any Mac app until a reboot, then it’s something more system-wide. I don’t have a Loupedeck but at that point, if there’s a Loupedeck device driver or extension I’d t

I think you'll have to bring this up with Loupedeck, who is responsible for the LR plugin that connects to the device.

Hi John,

Thanks.

I already have a case with Loupedeck, waiting on reply.

On the other hand, I don't think it is a hardware issue, since the keyboard is working fine on both iMac and Macbook....

There was another problem discussed here where a plug-in stopped working and it turned out to be a conflict with another plug-in. If you want to troubleshoot against that possibility, try disabling all other LrC plug-ins in File > Plug-in Manager, see if the situation improves, and if it does improve then start enabling plug-ins one at a time until the Loupedeck fails again. If it does fail after a certain plug-in is re-enabled, you might have isolated the conflict.

Hi Conrad,

thank you for this extensive reply.

I was originally thinking about a systemwide issue, but the OS's are the same on both devices.

I will check and compare other plugins. I have done so on the iMac, now I will check the Macbook.

Re conflicting plugins, did you install the Tourbox plugin at some point?  The Tourbox developers copied the source code for the Loupedeck plugin, so there could be a conflict there:
