When I open lightroom classic, to perform sorting tasks of the library (around 10,000 photos and videos). Without editing any photo, just viewing it in the library. After a few minutes the computer heats up to the point of firing the fans.
Other programs where I can view the same amount of images and videos hardly affect the temperature of the computer, but with Lightroom Classic, it always shoots up.
Any idea how I can improve this behavior? The biggest problem is that it drains the battery.

Could it be due to lack of SSD disk space? I currently have 120GB of 1TB free space available.

If that is where your catalog is, then LrC performance will suffer. What is that, 12.0% free? Looking for at least 20% some say 25% free

I agree with with @GoldingD , the lack of space on the drive is your issue.

But inspect the MACBooks air inlets for dust and debris

LrC is a resource hog, the MACBook could be getting pushed into heating issues. If those vents are restricted, then an overheat could occur.
