Lightroom Classicis unable to import photos

New Here ,
Jun 06, 2025 Jun 06, 2025

Tried everything from reinstalling lightroom, resetting my lightroom preferences, reinstallng creative cloud, and evrything else. Even tested different external hard drives to import. There are 1900 raw files that I am importing but only 175 show. Even rebuilt previews, created a new catalog, purged cache but nothing seems to work. Found older posts but nothing seemed to have worked.

Computer: Mac Studio M2 Ultra

Memory: 64GB

OS Sequioa 15.5

Lightroom Classic 14.3.1

Creative Cloud: 6.70.278

Provide a screen shot of the Import dialog showing the problem.

Hi @nagendran39010631

Sorry to hear about the issue you are facing. It’s clear you’ve already tried a lot of the right steps. To help us dig deeper, could you please clarify a few things:

  • Are all 1900 files in the same format (e.g., RAW from the same camera), and are they located in the same folder or on the same external drive?

  • Are the missing files visible and accessible through Finder outside of Lightroom?

With this information, we can better identify what might be preventing Lightroom from showing the full set of files.

Regards,

Srishti

Definitely show us a screen capture of the entire Import dialog screen, as suggested by @drtonyb . Please use the "Insert Photos" icon to include your screen capture in your reply.

Also, I know you said 1900 raw files, but is there even one video in the folder or camera card you are trying to import?
