Adobe support wasn't able to help me with this issue Ive had for a year. Lighroom 5 continues to crash after I erase an adjustment brush, followed by a crash report. I am currently running Mac IOS Sierra 10.13.6,. I have deleted the app and reinstalled it but the issue persists. Please help.

Hi Carlosf,
Sorry to hear about Lightroom crashing when you use the Adjustment brush tool, have you tried turning off the Graphics processor from the Lightroom preferences? Go to Lightroom > Preferences >Performance tab > Uncheck GPU > Restart Lightroom.

Try creating a new catalog, import a single file, and try to use the adjustment brush and let us know if it still crashes.

It crashed once again. I was able to create and delete the adjustment a few
times before it ended the program. I have a window with a crash report on
my screen

I wonder if this can be helpful. I’m using Lr 5.7.1

Please try resetting the preferences of Lightroom as it might help: How to set Lightroom Classic CC preferences

Once again, the app crashed. I deleted the file com.adobe.LightroomClassicCC7.plist as instructed.

Those wo statements are contradictory. You deleted the preference file for Lightroom 7 but you are using LR 5? You should delete the preference file for Lightroom 5 which will not have classic in the name as Lightroom 5 was a few versions before Adobe started using the Classic identifier.

I deleted com.adobe.CommonLR5.plist as you suggested but Lr still crashed.

Carlos this forum is just for other users. I guess the problem might be that LR5 never was supported on Mac OS 10.13 and it is perhaps not surprising it crashes. Not very helpful I know but I do Remember there are some incompatibilities that cause weird behavior with Lr 5 and newer Mac OS installations.
