Lightroom edits not coming through in public link.

Community Beginner ,
Nov 21, 2022 Nov 21, 2022

Does anybody know why, for some pictures, the Lightroom edits are not visible when the pictures are watched via a public internet link ?  This seems to happen randomly but specially for pictures that have been edited with the "healing" button.

Grateful for any advice.

Hi,
Thanks again for your help.
I did reset my preferences. I also noted that the “healing box” in the sync settings was not ticked. This seems to be the default setting !?
I changed that. It now seems to work ok.
Best Regards,
Michel

Hi Michel, I've moved to Discussions because bugs need a particular format as per the how to write a bug report post here: https://community.adobe.com/t5/lightroom-classic-bugs/how-do-i-write-a-bug-report/idi-p/12386373

Can you test some photos with healing and create a post to show this happening, which will allow the engineers to trace this and fix it. If you go back after a while does the healing eventually show? Is it a slow sync perhaps?

Hello,
Thanks for your quick response. It doesn’t seem to be a slow sync since it remained the same after an hour or so. I will post some images.
Best Regards,
Michel

First picture is (part of the ) photo shown in my (edited) collection in Lightroom (library Module).
Second picture is the same one but then as as shown via the public link on the internet.60172080-50F8-404C-81E5-F5615FC167D6.png232584FE-50A7-425C-9537-30509150C480_1_201_a.jpeg

I've checked this on 12.01 and Lightroom.adobe.com and it syncs quickly. I've also done a shared link to a non logged in browser and refreshing the page after sync completes. I've refreshed the spot and again the updated version will show after refreshing post cync completing.

For those pictures where it goes wrong it says (when synced to my Ipad) : "Waiting for settings.  This photo is missing settings from another client that need to be downloaded before it can be edited."  I have no idea why it says that.  All photo's are treated by me in the same way I think.

What happens if you save metada to the offending files? Are you seeing errors in the Lightroom Sync preferences?

So to be clear, have the edits been 'burned' into some image before trying to share them?

You say "pictures are watched via a public internet link," but it would be useful to provide more details on exactly how you are conducting this.

You can make an edit on, say a JPEG, but that's at this point in LR just instructions for the edit, it hasn't been applied. You have to export that to a new iteration and then upload it.

Locally, on your system, if you export the image you've provided and open in say Photoshop, do you see the edits?

Are you sharing (which one):

  • A edited RAW
  • A edited DNG
  • A edited JPEG or TIFF
  • A exported DNG
  • A exported JPEG, or TIFF

How are you sharing:

  • Method (list steps)
  • From where
  • To where

My workflow is the same for all photos:

1)I import DNG’s from the storage chip in my camera into LR Classic.
2) I edit photos in the Development module.

3) I give the “good” ones a star.
4) In the File module I select those photos that I gave a star.

5) I create a new Collection choosing the option of including the selected pictures in the new Collection and choosing the option of synching them with LR.

6)On top of the RH side of the LR screen I Choose “Make Public”.
7) I right-click on the collection name.  Then on “Lightroom Links” and “Make Collection Public”.
8)On the top RH side of the LR screen I see a link.   Like : adobe.ly/3TUphKM

9) I right click again on the collection name

10) I right-click on the Collection name.  Then on “Lightroom Links” and “Copy Public Link”
11) the link which is then on my clipboard I give to friends and family.

When using this link, It seems that all edits are visible apart from the ones done with the Healing facility.

Thanks again for looking at this issue.

Because this isn't happening here with shared public links, I'm gonna suggest resetting preferences.
