I've loaded pictures from my canon 70d to lightroom on mcbook pro and then sync'd to LR mobile. photo resolution is lower significantly on LR mobile on iPad pro. Can't find setting or what to correct?

The photo available to Lightroom mobile has fewer pixels than the original. This is by design. As far as I know, there is no setting to change this.

Has the design changed with recent updates? I've looked at many older photos that do not show a difference to the naked eye.

Naked eye? I would rather you use the number of pixels, that way we can both have an objective discussion on the matter.
