Lightroom v 13.3.1 on Windows 11
I have searched for answers to this, but seems it's not a common problem. Happens every time.
I changed the motherboard, processor and GPU a few weeks ago in a big upgrade on my PC. All was working swimmingly and lovely.
Then, for some reason, overnight, Lightroom has started taking forever and an age to open.
I open it, the first frame of the app appears, then it hangs for a while. Then the splash screen appears, then disappears, then nothing happens other than the small blue circle spinning. Nothing loads.
It then says Lightroom is unresponsive and stays like that. For about 4 mins!!! It then appears, finally, but takes a while to load all the images. Once up and running, it's relatively smooth, but after about half an hour of editing, it starts to significantly slow down.
My computer runs from a 1Tb SSD M.2 drive with two others as dump drives. It's now running an MSI Z790 motherboard with BIOS completely updated from build, an Intel Core i7 14700K CPU and a GeForce RTX 3060 graphics card with 12 Gb. My memory is 32Gb DDR5 high speed RAM.
So, all should be more than good enough to run LR. The computer works absolutely fine with other stuff, very quick, very smooth. I have enabled the GPU and ensured all the updates on everything so should be no issues there either.
Does anyone have any idea what is going on with LR? I don't know how large my Catalogue is, I suspect relatively big, but not big enough for it to be an issue, if that is actually a thing.
Any help would be good help. I'm in middle of wedding season and I could do without all of this going on! Thanks!

Hello,
One solution - open Lightroom, and then sign out of your account. Close the programme, and then sign in again.
With me loading didn't take that long, but I did get a not responding message for a few seconds. Signing out, and then in again solved that problem!

Another person is experiencing similar very slow startup:

If signing out doesn't help, try temporarily disabling your anti-malware software entirely. That was someone else's problem recently:
If that helps, then you can figure out how to add specific exclusions for your Lightroom catalog and associated files.

Thank you. I have tried both the disabling of anti virus and the sign in, sign out method as above now and neither have worked. If anything, the Creative Cloud app is also now very unresponsive. I am a little at my wits end with this. I have no idea what the issue is.

Johnny boy, I am seeing the same problem as you but with Lightroom 13.5.
I noticed Lightroom was getting slower on my older computer while performing certain tasks so I figured I would upgrade. I've upgraded to a very high-powered Dell XPS 8950 with a 49-in ultra wide monitor. When I load Lightroom it takes two and a half minutes to completely load!
After doing some research, at first I thought the problem was my ultra wide monitor having too much resolution for Lightroom to handle, so I added a second monitor on which I had been running Lightroom on my older computer. I then altered my configuration so that Lightroom would start up on the older monitor that was not the ultra wide monitor. I still got the same problem !
So I'm perplexed and frustrated. I spend a lot of money to upgrade this system to make Lightroom faster and I got the opposite result.
Even worse, when Lightroom is running it appears that other apps are affected, causing them to be slow or unresponsive. It's quite a mess!
I'm certainly looking forward to someone finding an answer to this.
